YOU GOT ME AT HENNA

It has been a long time since people started tattooing their bodies. What was once believed to be a practice among the men has now come across to the women as well. Parents of teenagers are going ballistic over their children getting a tattoo without their knowledge. What these parents should know now is that they can already offer their children alternatives to getting a permanent tattoo.

Henna tattoo is a great alternative for those who do not want needle pricks, pain and permanent tattoos. These tattoos are temporary tattoos which would last up to 2 to 4 weeks. A henna plant is grounded with essential oils, sugars, and other liquids and then mixed together to create the paste used in tattooing without the addition of chemicals.

When making body art, it is important that one should know what type of henna is being used upon the skin: natural henna or black henna. Natural henna makes use of organic henna. It has a greenish-brown color but it may seem black from a distance. When put on the skin, natural henna will give out a stain which is brown in color as opposed to black henna. Black henna contains a chemical content called p-Phenylenediamine to darken the stain and is harmful to the skin. This dye is only used as hair dye and is considered illegal.

Application of henna tattoos would only be on the surface of the skin or the decorative layer of the skin. When the surface layers are exfoliated, the inner layers move up making the henna tattoo slowly fade in a few weeks. Permanent tattoos, on the other hand, are tattooed on the inner layers. The inner layers do not get exfoliated making these tattoos permanent.

As henna tattoos continue to be developed, henna tattoo artists have found a way to create permanent henna tattoos. However, henna is still preferred to be used temporarily. For those who do not want to hire a henna tattoo artist to cut on costs, application of henna is now made easier. Henna powders are henna pens are already made available in the markets. These are most likely cheaper than when having a professional apply them on your skin. Better yet, one may opt to make their own paste using the ingredients from their kitchen.
